Jesse Caloway

Jesse Caloway is a mobile device forensic examiner and criminal defense investigator with over a decade of investigative experience and a specialized focus on digital evidence. As the owner of Texas Criminal Defense Investigations, he has conducted more than 500 investigations ranging from misdemeanors to capital murder cases, providing critical insight into mobile device data, call detail records, and digital timelines.

Jesse’s expertise centers on the forensic extraction and analysis of mobile devices, including advanced interpretation of iOS and Android artifacts, SQLite databases, and location data. He routinely works beyond standard forensic tool outputs, leveraging manual analysis, scripting, and database-level validation to ensure findings are complete, accurate, and defensible in court.

Prior to founding his firm, Jesse served as a criminal investigator with the United States Air Force, where he conducted felony and misdemeanor investigations, supervised investigative personnel, and managed evidence handling in compliance with legal and procedural standards.

He holds numerous industry certifications, including Certified Mobile Device Examiner (ICMDE), Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA) , Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO), Cellebrite Certified Repair Technician (CERT-F), Cellebrite Chip-Off Forensics and MSAB XRY/XAMN certifications, along with advanced training in database forensics, media authentication, and call detail record analysis. His work has been presented to bar associations, public defender offices, and investigative organizations across Texas, and he has testified in both criminal and civil proceedings.

Jesse is a member of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS), the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA), and the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (TALI).
